Churchill described democracy as 'the least bad of all systems.' So it is, when it works. The Master of the New College of the Humanities and Professor of Philosophy and Supernumerary Fellow of St Anne's College, Oxford explores how democracy has been made to fail, and how to put it right. AC Grayling is the author of over thirty books of philosophy, biography, history of ideas, and essays, and is a leading newspaper columnist and broadcaster. He has twice been a judge on the Booker Prize, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Society of Literature.
