Are you at the foothills of fiction writing, or have you started and stalled? Mavis Cheek, the acclaimed author of 15 novels, is highly experienced in running workshops – especially for the Arvon Foundation – and this workshop is designed for those who are at the beginning of fi ction writing and need encouragement and guidance about how to carry on - and those who have tried writing novels or short stories and then lost confi dence or motivation. The day touches lightly on the ingredients of good fiction with workshops and discussions aimed to be both fun and informative with sessions that get you flexing those writer’s muscles.

Mavis Cheek’s novels include the award
winning Pause Between Acts, Mrs Fytton’s Country Life, Janice Gentle Gets Sexy and The Lovers of Pound Hill.
