Event Details

Jacqueline Saphra, Jess Phillips, Jane Merrick and Jane Garvey

Sat 28th April 2018
5.15pm - 6.15pm
Stratford ArtsHouse
The #MeToo campaign on social media emerged after high profile women came forward and revealed they had been victims of sexual harassment from the corridors of Westminster to the studios of Hollywood. Jane Garvey talks to the journalist and whistle-blower Jane Merrick, and the MP Jess Phillips who foreworded a new collection of poetry that rose up directly out of the collective rage. These poems, many by our finest poets; including Jacqueline Saphra who will read her work, are painful and angry, but the result is one that is powerful, beautiful, full of sisterhood and recovery. All profits from the book sales will go to Women's Aid UK.
