We welcome the formidable University Challenge question master and Newsnight anchor to talk about his latest project, Empire, a major BBC TV series, which considers not so much what the British Empire did for the world but what having an Empire has done for us as a nation. This is the latest in several acclaimed books her has written including The English and The Political Animal.
Jeremy Paxman has received several prestigious awards like BAFTA Richard Dimbleby Award, Royal Television Society Award for ‘Interviewer of the Year’ in 1998 and also ‘TV Journalism Presenter of the Year’ awards in 2002 and 2007, and Broadcasting Press Guild Award for best ‘non-acting’ performer. He is an honorary fellow of St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, has received an honorary doctorate from the Open University in 2006 and is a passionate fly fisherman.
