Robert Harris and Mike Poulton in Conversation

Thu 16th November 2017
5.00pm - 6.00pm
Royal Shakespeare Theatre

The Lit Fest is delighted to be in partnership with the RSC for an exclusive conversation before the world premiere of Imperium the Cicero Plays (Parts I and II). Novelist Robert Harris and adaptor Mike Poulton will be discussing the writing process that brings the thrilling story of Ancient Rome in the Cicero trilogy to the stage, dramatised through six one-act plays, presented over two performances.

Robert Harris is the author of best-selling political thrillers including Fatherland, Enigma, Conclave and The Ghost, and the Cicero trilogy (Imperium, Lustrum and Dictator). His new novel Munich will be published in September.

Mike Poulton is the writer, translator and adaptor of Robert Harris’ Cicero novels for our new productions, and his other work for the RSC includes Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies (2013/14), Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales and Malory’s Morte D’Arthur (1996).
