We did it !
The inaugural Stratford-upon-Avon Literary Festival, which took place between Tuesday, 29th April and Saturday, 3rd May 2008, was a huge success with good sized audiences and a wonderful atmosphere .

Set in the birthplace of Shakespeare, the world's greatest writer, and generously supported by Stratford District Council and Savills, this exciting festival included author events and book signings, lively panel discussions (including a world first - Shapespeare meets the cast from Eastenders and The Archers), and writers' workshops with Mills & Boon and bestselling author Katie Fforde. The poetry evening with Felix Dennis was unforgettable and very enjoyable!

Loads of young people rolled up for the CHILDREN'S EVENTS,and the sun shone on the Theatre Gardens. For the very young we had a story-telling event with Ragdoll, then author events with Gillian Cross, Sophie McKenzie, Jeremy Strong, Robert Muchamore and Tony de Saulles.

Plans are already afoot for next year's Festival, with provisional dates of 28th April to 2nd May 2009.
