A fascinating conversation with the photo-journalist Paul Conroy and former foreign correspondent at The Times, Ed Gorman. Conroy was on assignment with Marie Colvin when she was killed in Homs. His book, Under the Wire, recounts this experience, recently made into a documentary for the BBC. Death of a Translator details Gorman’s experiences as a young war correspondent in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan which finally led to a breakdown and PTSD. They will discuss the challenges of their work and the price journalists pay to bring us the details of world events.
