In a fascinating exploration of how women today are living across continents and cultures, Radio 4 Woman’s Hour’s Jane Garvey talks to Bentley University academic Joni Seagar, author of The Women’s Atlas that provides a comprehensive analysis of data on the key issues facing women today, including gender equality, literacy and information technology, feminism, the culture of beauty, work and the global economy, changing households, domestic violence, LGBTQ rights, government and power, motherhood, and more.

She'll be joined by Professor Shirin Rai, Professor in the department of Politics and International Studies at Warwick University. She has written extensively on issues of gender, governance and development and has consulted with the United Nations’ Division for the Advancement of Women and UNDP. She is a founder member of the South Asia Research Network on Gender, Law and Governance, and is co-author of Performing Representation: Women Members in the Indian Parliament.
