Our cathedrals hold the story of their birth and those that built them. In a fascinating insight into the history of our great Christian buildings, the writer Christopher Somerville and stonemason Andrew Ziminski discuss their impact on the people and places where they were built. Somerville is the Walking Correspondent of The Times. Andrew Ziminski has worked on many of Britain’s greatest monuments, from the Roman ruins of Bath to Salisbury Cathedral’s spire and St Paul’s, and his three decades of work give a unique perspective on the warp and weft of English history, nature and geology.
