A circus/carousel of morning and afternoon activities throughout the week to take place in The Story Den beside our Festival Hub. 

Afternoon sessions are for pre-school children and older siblings. Throughout the week we will be creating a wall of stories, weaving everyone's ideas together and creating a large fabric story scene which will be shared throughout the week.

Ticket Price: £5 per family (one adult with 2 children)

Sunday 10th May

2pm-4pm Free drop in 

Join us on Sunday 10th May for stories and play as we welcome in our week of pre-school events; a week long celebration of the rights of children and childhood. Celebrating the stories that help us grow and be in the world

Monday 11th May 

9.30am - 11am

'From Head to Toe'

We know that young children love to move! Join us for stories, songs and play celebrating the right to be alive. Following the story session, each child will make a peg doll of themselves to take home. Ticket price includes all materials.

4pm-5pm

'I am Alive'

Each of our stories is personal and unique, yet we share our stories through family and friendships. Join us on the Monday for a storytime session followed by creating a collaborative story scene using fabrics and paint.

Tuesday 12th May

9.30am - 11am

'I am the Strongest'

We will be sharing stories of Avocado baby and Pippi Longstocking,  children who teach us about what it takes to be strong!  A morning of stories, songs and play celebrating the right to good health. Each child will make and decorate a fabric bag to carry home. Ticket price includes all materials.

4pm-5pm

'I am Strong'

It takes strength to be strong. But how do we build our strength? Join us on Tuesday for a storytime session and as we continue to create our collaborative story scene using fabrics and paint.

Wednesday 13th May

9.30am - 11am

‘I am Smart’

There are many ways to be clever and we will be exploring how during a morning of stories, songs and play celebrating the right to education. Each child will make and create a book to take home. Ticket price includes all materials.

No afternoon session

Thursday 14th May

9.30am - 11am

‘I Will Keep You Safe ’

Sharing the story of a young boy who ponders who will keep him safe, join us for a morning of stories, songs and play celebrating the right to protection. Each child will make and decorate a house to carry home. Ticket price includes all materials.

4pm-5pm

‘Home’

Building on stories from the beginning of the week, we will explore stories about our home and what it is to feel safe and protected.  Beginning with a storytime session and continuing to create our collaborative story scene using fabrics and paint.

Friday 15th May

9.30am - 11am

‘When I Grow Up ’

As our week comes to an end, we will celebrate all we have shared and how we have grown. Exploring the theme of ‘When I grow up’ we will share our final morning of stories, songs and play. Each child will make a ‘Mary Poppins’ style tape measure to carry home. Ticket price includes all materials.

4pm-5pm

‘Our Story’

Completing our collaborative story scene using fabrics and paint, we will use this as the setting for our stage. Then it is time for you and your child to share your stories together; to an audience or alone, held within the Story Den.
