Claude Monet’s letters offer an unmatched glimpse into the life of the hugely influential artist, revealing his passions, anxieties and frank opinions, and expanding our view of his working life and practice. The editor of the first major English language collection of Monet’s letters discusses his life and legacy. She will be joined by the leading actor David Troughton*, who will read from the letters, bringing the “father of impressionism” to life in his own words.
